One of the things that we've always wanted was a branch office. Having a branch offic would mean being able to open accounts and do transactions other than our office. The branch offic would also be acting as another source for getting new members by expand our services. We are planning to open a branch offic at the 'Clumbia Park Boys and Girls Club' - an aftershool program for many youths form all over the city. Or open a branch office at a local school where many of our youths currently attend. The opening of our branch office would be possible by having anouther trained adult staff member work with our management team there.

Another project would be for the YCUP to open their own small business. It would be nice to have our own business like many other Youth Credit Union Programs. For example, the D.E. Wells Credit Union in Massachusetts, has a fish market that has been around for a few years now. For us, having our own small business would help us be more on our own - by not having to write as many donation letter for our fundraising efforts. And another pro would mean that we could employ our members and make more youth jobs for the community.

We also want to invest, and to teach our members about investiong in the stock market. This would give our members another way to save for the future, and another way that money works in our econmy. Currently, our credit union has an Investment Committee that has been working with a stock broker Dave Dunn, who has been helping us learn about the stock market in general. Our committee members are now resherching and tracking two different companies each. In the next month, we will actually be deciding on which stocks to invest our $2,500 grant that we have reservied for investing.
